'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith resumes battle with City.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he recalls the thrilling dying seconds of Swansea's epic comeback victory against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The game ended with Galbraith picking up a supporter's spectacles following the on-field celebration.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a long-range shot from outside the box, and Cameron Burgess quickly slammed home the rebound before sprinting toward the home end to celebrate, with fans congregating around the players.

Stunning Reversal

This sealed an incredible comeback given Swansea had been behind 2-0 deep into the final 45 minutes. During the delirium, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a supporter shouting out and Josh Key and I were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're individuals, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The result earned a next round match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith came close against at the same stage of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. Galbraith had arguably the best view when his former team took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's first-time shot from about long distance going in via the woodwork and the Stefan Ortega. It seems unfair that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've awarded it to him for having a go from that distance," stated Galbraith, who began the game centrally before shifting to right flank after the team changed tactics. That meant facing off against Jack Grealish, with whom he swapped shirts, and the player was among the opposition who praised the way his former team played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the fundamentals and simple things, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they complete every delivery and they understand how to manage and neutralize a game. You can think you're doing well and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball between defenders without you even noticing. You have to be switched on every second of the game. It requires a tough attitude and attention just to keep pace."

Swansea Move

The Welsh side pushed to sign Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to sign him in the summer in a significant move. He became a favorite as a crowd pleaser across a couple of years at Leyton Orient and has swiftly done the same in his new home. At his previous team he linked up again with his former manager, who previously gave Galbraith his first extended run in professional games on loan at Doncaster from Manchester United. Then came a loan at lower division Salford, before he moved on from Manchester United.

Development Path

"I was likely a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think many athletes would say under-23s football is entirely separate. Sometimes it appears possession is exchanged without serious challenge. There are limited physical contests. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adjust fast."

Country Call-ups

He has shown that maturation for club and country, excelling for Northern Ireland, who remain in contention for the World Cup next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has started the last several matches, including both legs fixtures against a football powerhouse. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he controls possession and his knack for a decisive through ball.

Early Days

This represents quite the ride for the youngster from the local area in the Belfast suburb, just outside Belfast, who grew up watching his parent, the elder Galbraith, also a midfielder, play for his father's team.

Manchester United Experience

His sole appearance for the Red Devils came in Central Asia in 2019, a Europa League trip to Astana, where they competed on an artificial pitch and the stadium roof was shut owing to conditions of freezing cold. "This represented a lengthy journey and it was chilly," he recalls, chuckling. "The preceding week, the academy prospects worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to accompany the senior squad and make an appearance at the end was incredible."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "This turned out quite easy, because I reached the point where I understood I wouldn't break through at the senior squad. I'm extremely thankful for the time I spent there but it got to the point where I felt I had to take a different path, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm slowly climbing the ladder."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during mid-afternoon at the club's training ground but Galbraith has a commitment at late afternoon: a road rules assessment, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Until recently to Sketty, the mid-twenties player was a frequent passenger in Swansea's dubbed team minibus, a small coach driven by club employees, Pete and Howard, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"My companions include the Portuguese player, Ronald, Malick Yalcouyé – Melker Widell used to be in it but has started driving. It's pleasant to spend time with the lads but I'm hoping to be the subsequent individual to drive independently and driving. His teammate is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Supporter Connections

While playing for Leyton Orient, Galbraith would mix with followers on the Tube after commuting at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
